Thousands in Michigan Without Power After Midwest Storms
Severe thunderstorms in northwest Ohio and southern Michigan knocked out power for hundreds of thousands of customers throughout the region. The impact of the storm system extended south into Arkansas, where heavy rainfall and flash flooding swept through the northern part of the state, said Joe Sellers, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. Power was restored through some areas a couple of hours later, after the storm knocked out electricity to more than 600,000.

According to SWEPCO, approximately 1,437 people were without power. SWEPCO lineman were working to restore power in North Longview. The service was restored a couple of hours later, the cause of the outage is unknown

More than 4,400 Mohave Electric Cooperative members were without power after major storms blew through the Tri-state, leaving damage in their wake. Outages impacted more than 1,500 members in the communities of Bullhead City, Fort Mohave an Mohave Valley in the western service area and nearly 3,000 in the eastern service area communities. Some portions of the eastern service area were without power for 21 hours after storms packing winds and lightning damaged MEC assets.

Tens of thousands of customers were without power and damage reports were coming in after severe weather, including a tornado, was reported east of Cincinnati.
